There are a lot of online personal finance tools out there that will help make your personal finance life a little more efficient. You have, of course, the headliner in Mint.com, now owned by Intuit, to help track all of your spending. You have a litany of budgeting tools, like You Need a Budget, and they’ve all been popular because the idea of online privacy has been flipped on its head with the popularity of Facebook.
I have been asked, on occasion, which tools I use. I don’t use any of them.
I trust all the services to do the right thing and to protect my information and privacy, but I know that sometimes mistakes are made and things can happen. Maybe I’m a little too old school, I’m about the age where I am comfortable telling people where I am via Twitter but not comfortable telling a third party my banking credentials.

Dear Creditnet: I’m currently in the market for a new TV and Best Buy is offering 0% financing for three years.
My question is when you open an account like this, how big of a hit does your FICO score usually take and how long will it take to rebound?
I could easily pay cash for the TV up front, but the “finance” person in me says it’s free money—why not take the terms?
Answer: Hard inquiries for a new credit card will generally drop your FICO score about five points, but it should bounce back within a few months. In some cases, a hard inquiry may not even affect your FICO score at all, so I wouldn’t worry too much about having an extra inquiry on your credit reports.
However, what you should worry about is how retail credit card deals (what Best Buy is actually offering you) can often wreak havoc on your credit utilization ratio, which accounts for about 30% of your FICO score.

Instant credit cards mean that people get the approval quickly for plastic money. According to the experts, this is the modus operandi of lenders to attract more consumers. There are many banks in United Kingdom who approve the credit cards application instantly through internet; it hardly takes more than one minute. Approval of application does not mean that an individual can start the shopping on the spot.
People can start online shopping and regular shopping only when they receive the card. Instant credit cards approval means that borrower has passed the all requirements of banks or lenders. Applicants can expect the credit card in his/her hand shortly. Approval can be instant but people have to wait for actual card at his/her door step. The best thing of online credit card is that people can come to know about the status within few hours.
Previously, people had to wait for many days to know the status of application, but now, people get instant result through online.

The key to mental recovery is to give the conscious, thinking mind intermittent rest. In his provocative book, How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci, author Michael Gelb poses a wonderfully revealing question, “Where are you when you get your best ideas?” Gelb has asked this question to thousands of people over the years, and the most common answer he gets include ‘in the shower,’ ‘resting in bed,’ ‘walking in nature,’ and ‘listening to music.’ We ask our own clients a similar question and their answers have ranged from taking a jog to meditating to dreaming to sitting on the beach. ‘Almost no one,’ Gelb writes, ‘claims to get their best ideas at work.’
Gelb also notes that as prolific a scientist, inventor, and artist Leonardo da Vinci was, he took regular breaks and naps, even to the frustration of his employers.
