Some people believe that carrying a credit card means that using it on a regular basis is a must. What would make you believe this? Sure, having a credit card is beneficial in some ways but you are not obligated to use it under any circumstances. You are much better off using it when you are sure of what you are doing, and keeping it in your wallet at all other times. Doesn’t that make sense?
If you get into the habit of using your credit card for every purchase you will need to change your financial outlook. One thing this definitely leads to is increased risk. The more you use your credit card the better chance there is that you will end up in debt – it is a numbers game.
How do I know when to use my plastic? This is up to you. Again, some people use their credit card for all purchases. If you think this is the best way to live your life and manage your finances, give it a try. Others only use their card on large purchases, and save smaller items for their debit card or cash. It really comes down to the system that you are most comfortable with.
A credit card is a great financial tool, and if you have one there is a good chance that you will use it from time to time. Just remember that you are not obligated to use your card at particular times or on certain purchases. Make up your own mind as to when you swipe your plastic!
