While it may not be considered one of the Big Four Banks, St George’s credit cards and other financial services have helped make it one of the most popular banks in Australia.

With low rate, rewards and platinum options, St George credit cards are bound to come up when comparing different options and here we look at each in depth to help you figure out if they may be the right choice for your next card.

St George Vertigo Credit Card

The St George Vertigo credit card has a highly competitive balance transfer offer of 0.99% p.a. for nine months before reverting to the standard purchase rate of 13.24%, one of the lowest ongoing purchase rates available.

The Vertigo MasterCard also has a relatively low annual fee of $55, making it a good option for people who want a low cost, low maintenance card.

St George Amplify Card

The appeal of rewards cards is often a driving factor for people looking to get more out of using credit but often these credit cards are limited to everyday rewards or frequent flyer points and may not give people as much value as expected.

While ard features often change based on what kind of rewards are available, but the St George Amplify credit card offers the same basic card features for both of the following reward programs:

  1. Amplify Rewards – with points going towards gift cards, appliances, events and entertainment and travel.
  2. Amplify Qantas – with frequent flyer points earned at a rate of one point per $2 spent.

Either option comes with a low annual fee of $79 and an interest rate of 18.74% p.a. on purchases and cash advances.

People who have never had a rewards card before, or who do not want to pay hundreds of dollars every year to have this option, might find the Amplify card a convenient compromise.

St George Platinum Card

As more exclusive options, both gold and platinum credit cards tend to come with an annual fee of more that $150, so the St George Platinum Visa’s $89 could be a huge saving on card costs.

This credit card comes with complimentary international travel insurance, purchase protection, extended warranty insurance and price guarantee cover, as well as a platinum concierge service.

It also has a relatively low purchase rate of 15.99% p.a., so for cardholders who want premium benefits without paying a fortune this card may be one that stands outs.

Finding a good credit card can be a difficult process, but comparing different banks and independent issuers will make the search a lot easier. Knowing what kind of options are provided through banks like St George will get you one step closer to the perfect card for you.
